A feature on the German Transfair label for Darjeeling tea, which guarantees a percentage of the sale proceeds being ploughed back into tea gardens for the benefit of workers. This scheme, first started for coffee plantations, has now been extended to the tea industry.

This class is basically unaware of the centuries-old religio-economic exploitation of the reserved group.

This programme deals with the threat of fire in high-rise buildings of Indian metropolises. There is no cohesive legislation or authority to handle this problem, though there is a fast-paced high-rise culture in all the metro cities.

THREE GIRLS ON A SCOOTIE (2005)

This short feature was part of a full-day live programme on World Youth Day when the Pope visited Koeln in Germany in August 2005. Three girls from Ahmedabad in Gujarat, western India were invited on this occasion. Each belonged to a different religion, so one was Hindu, one a Muslim and one a Christian. They all drive the two-wheeler called scooter or scootie in India. The feature profiles the three girls as they prepare to leave for a momentous journey to Germany.
